Will the ceremony be in English?Providing the wedding is performed by a licensed marriage officer, the wedding is completely legal and recognised by UK law.
ALL DOCUMENTATION MUST BE ORIGINAL (PHOTOCOPIES
ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE)
*You require a statutory declaration (sometimes called an
affadvit) obtained from a solicitor. This document should not be
more than 3 months old by date of wedding. This can also be
obtained from Paphos Court at a current cost of €3.50.
*Birth certificate
*10 year passport
*Adoption certificate (if applicable)
*Decree absolute (if applicable)
*Death certificate (if applicable)
*Change of name deed poll certificate (if applicable)
*Anyone under the age of 18 will need parental consent.
*For a church ceremony baptism certificates must be available.
*Irish citizens must obtain a Freedom to Marry certificate from
either the department of foreign affairs in Ireland or the Irish
Embassy in London.
We suggest that you fax the above
documentation to us, at least 2 weeks prior to UK departure in
order we can confirm they are adequate.
The cost of a
special licence is currently €282. This is payable to the
relevant town hall. If you choose to have your wedding ceremony
at one of the hotels the town hall will make an extra charge, as
will the hotel. (Prices can be provided on application).
Weddings held in the Churches at present time cost from €515.
Two witnesses over 18 years of age are required by law, however we are more than happy to provide two witnesses if required. We ask that when you arrive in resort, you must have a photocopy of each witnesses' passport.
As Paphos is becoming increasingly popular for UK wedding couples, the earlier you book the better your chances of getting the time & date you would like. However you will be advised of the time and date and not just the period the wedding is booked in. (Unlike some of the major tour operators),
